BMW M3 Tiger Edition

We love anything with BMW and M on it but sometimes we struggle to see the point of everything. This limited series BMW M3 Tiger Edition seems to be for the Chinese market, and apart from the hot ‘Joy’ advertising campaign, there’s not much more for it to add to the ’standard’ BMW M3.

The M3 Tiger Edition celebrates 25 years of M models and the Chinese year of the tiger. It has the distinctive Fire Orange Metallic paint job, but this time with black exterior trim, and 19-inch wheels. On the inside we get Novilla leather seats and tiger heads embroidered into the headrests. 250 M3 Tiger Edition models will be produced.

This teaser video of the BMW 1 Series Coupé gives us another glimpse of the pocket rocket that BMW will officially present at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. We get the feeling it will be a busy event! The new 1 Series Coupé is inspired by previous ‘M’ models from BMW, although it is designed to be an accessible model for the company, and addition to that we expect it to be a sexy little number too. The first teaser video of the coupé on the Ascari circuit is after the jump.

BMW 6 Series spy shots

Carscoop has jumped the gun and revealed these spy pics of the new BMW 6 Series interior. If you were expecting something funky, or different at the very least, you’ll be disappointed as the most of the interior elements are borrowed from the BMW 5 Series. Still, it’s got all the luxury you could want.

Externally the new 6 Series will have sharper lines and a look similar to the Concept Gran Coupé, but will keep its traditional soft top fabric roof. The engine line-up includes that of the BMW 5 Series with an extra 3.0-litre diesel for the European market. That means we should see the 3.0-litre turbocharged engine and the 4.4-litre V8. Transmission options will depend on the engine and will include either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox.

We should see the coupé and cabriolet models appear in Spring 2011, while the production version Concept Gran Coupé should turn up in 2012 and also be part of the 6 Series line-up. We will be seeing the new BMW 6 Series coupe and cabriolet live at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

According to reports the new BMW 1 Series will be officially presented at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. With the 2010 IAA yet to commence, we’ll have to wait a whole year before seeing the new F20 (factory name) 1 Series, to be developed on the rear-wheel-drive platform of the L7 (which will also be used for the 3 Series F30). The new 1 Series will be slightly larger than the current model, with a longer wheelbase and more interior room and should replace the current three and five door versions.

The car should share many features of the new BMW 5 Series and 6 Series and could even go on sale in the US. The three and five-door versions should debut in North America along with the Coupé and Cabrio. The new 1 Series range should also have a Limousine four-door sedan version, and a Gran Turismo model will probably be replaced in favour of a Touring model instead.

The reports from Spain also indicate that we could get a new engine range with turbo-charged three and four cylinder units. The new generation would be available with a three-cylinder 1.2i Turbo available in 75 or 184 hp, while a 1.5d Turbo diesel option would appear in either 95 or 177 hp versions. A top-of-the-range would possibly be a four-cylinder 2.0i turbo with 204 or 238 hp.
